TMA & TMA-2 sold as mescaline

Risk assessment
A sample declared as mescaline contained the hallucinogenic phenethylamines 3,4,5-trimethoxyamphetamine (TMA) and 2,4,5-trimethoxyamphetamine (TMA-2) as well as various synthesis by-products instead of mescaline. In addition, small amounts of ketamine and caffeine were found, which may be impurities in the minigrip.
Mescaline is usually dosed higher (orally: 200 - 400 mg) than TMA (orally: 20 - 40 mg) and TMA-2 (orally: 20 - 40 mg). There is therefore a risk of overdosing, which can lead to an unexpected and potentially dangerous trip with harmful side effects. The unknown mixing ratio of the two TMA variants makes the effect even more unpredictable. The additional admixtures of ketamine and caffeine increase the risk of unpredictable interactions. Therefore, the consumption of unknown impurities poses an additional health risk. The interaction potential of all substances with each other is completely unknown.
TMA and TMA-2 are structurally related to mescaline and belong to the same family of phenethylamines. All three substances produce similar hallucinogenic effects. The presence of both TMA variants plus synthesis by-products indicates a failed mescaline synthesis that produced these analogs instead.
There is hardly any information available on the risks, side effects and long-term consequences of TMA and TMA-2. Consumption is therefore strongly discouraged! False declarations are often made for powders and crystalline samples; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption!

Analysis
Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking
Testing
If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.
Wait and see
Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.
Utensils
Always use your own sniffing utensils when applying powders nasally (sniffing) to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
