Risk assessment

This crystalline sample sold as mescaline is not mescaline, but MDMA.

The effects of the two substances differ markedly. Mescaline is a classic psychedelic and has a strong hallucinogenic effect. MDMA is an entactogenic and emphatogenic stimulant and mainly causes an increase in empathy, strong stimulation and an intensification of feelings. As mescaline is dosed much higher than MDMA, this misdeclaration can quickly lead to the ingestion of a very high amount of MDMA.

Excessive doses of MDMA can lead to side effects such as jaw cramps, muscle tremors, nausea/nausea, increased blood pressure, palpitations, cardiac arrhythmia, headaches and diarrhea. On a psychological level, agitation and inner restlessness, physical agitation, anxiety and panic can occur. The heart, liver and kidneys are under particular strain. The body temperature is greatly increased; there is a risk of heatstroke and even cerebral edema or multiple organ failure. Overdoses can lead to muscle cramps and hallucinations. In rare cases, MDMA can trigger epileptic seizures, psychoses, kidney and liver failure, cerebral hemorrhages and heart attacks!

With powders and crystalline samples, false declarations occur again and again; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption!

Safer Use

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

Always use your own sniffing utensils when applying powders nasally (sniffing) to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
