3,4-DMMC sold as MDMA

This powder declared as MDMA does not contain MDMA, but the new psychoactive substance 3,4-DMMC.
Dimethylmethcathinone (3,4-DMMC) belongs to the group of so-called cathinones and is sold on the internet as a legal, new psychoactive substance (NPS). According to the product descriptions, it is supposed to imitate the popular effects of 3-MMC and 4-MMC (mephedrone), but many users find it unpleasant. According to user reports, the substance is perceived as painful and "toxic", especially when sniffed. The effect of 3,4-DMMC is mainly described as stimulating and is said to be less euphoric than MDMA. In addition, according to reports, 3,4-DMMC is dosed lower than MDMA, which poses a risk of overdose.
It is likely that the 3,4-DMMC was sold as MDMA to crudely mimic a psychoactive effect by cheap means. As 3,4-DMMC is a new, unexplored psychoactive substance, the short- and long-term risks of 3,4-DMMC are unknown. Consumption of this substance is not recommended.
