Risk assessment

In addition to a small amount of amphetamine, 47.2 % MDMA and 29.7 % caffeine were detected in this sample declared as amphetamine.

Due to the increased content of MDMA, there is a risk of unintentionally consuming a high amount of MDMA. Excessive doses of MDMA can lead to side effects such as jaw grinding, eye and muscle twitching or seizures. In the case of overdoses, the body temperature rises sharply and hallucinations can occur. On subsequent days, after taking such high doses of MDMA, depression, lack of concentration, sleep disorders, loss of appetite and a feeling of strong listlessness occur more frequently.

MDMA is a synthetic amphetamine derivative and belongs to the group of entactogenic and emphatogenic stimulants. MDMA is one of the most popular illegal substances and is often consumed at parties. MDMA has a stimulating effect and is effective when snorted at lower doses than when swallowed. Due to the increased amount of MDMA in the sample, it is assumed that MDMA was deliberately added to the amphetamine sample as an extender, possibly to simulate a higher purity content.

With powders and crystalline samples, false declarations occur again and again; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption!

Safer Use

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

Always use your own sniffing utensils when applying powders nasally (sniffing) to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
